Playaway

Jackson went to Playaway today - one of Isabelle's old haunts. I recorded his reactions - from initial shock (What the?) to delight in the bubbles, to exhaustion from climbing obstacle course. He loved the drums and the music. He did not like the parachute. Maybe later...

Soccer

Friday night was Max's soccer game. His team is France. France did not win. Argentina won (I could have predicted that). But Max ran, and ran, and ran. He chased the ball and even made contact. He sat out for a rest when he was told to do so, and ran right back in when he was told to do so. Meanwhile, Isabelle and Jackson, Morgan and Mia watched from the sidelines. After the game we walked over to the park, and the kids played some more. Jackson dug in the dirt, ate some more sand, and played on the jungle gym. By the time they all parted for the night, they were worn out and properly dirty. What a great time!

Going to the fair...

What would a school fair be without hot dogs, screaming children, hot sun, and loud music? Jackson slept through half of it, and woke just in time to savor a lollipop (his first) and play in the dirt. Isabelle got a makeover and a pony ride, and tried the water slide. It's always amazing to think about the people who do all the work behind the scenes. Someone has to set up, run the games, and take them down afterward. This time, we were part of that team. Next time, it will be someone else's turn. But at least this year Isabelle's class had a booth, thanks to her mother, who donated the prizes and organized the labor.

Granblahblahblogging

I've determined that life starts over again when you have grandchildren. It's the proverbial fountain of youth. In the two years that have passed (!) since I started the MOBMOGLOG, I am now Granny to three, and step-granny to another three. Life is very full and ever-changing. The eldest are now school-age and the youngest are now creeping and crawling. Two are still nursing (Grandpa Ed Cerutti is smiling on them), in spite of mouthfuls of teeth, which is more a credit to their mothers than to them!

Babies and children are always cute, but undeniably irresistible when they are your grandchildren. This will be my Granny blog, to share with my counterparts, who might enjoy my musings on the subject, seeing as they have a vested interest.

The past two weeks have been very busy with visits to Disney World with Giuliana, Isabelle, and Jackson, helping move Ian and Lauren (and Rowan) to their new house in Orlando, and Jackson's 1st birthday party on the heels of Joann's (Grandma JoJo's) visit to Englewood.

I will try to post as many photos as possible, because, as we all know, they speak volumes.
